Locally bought
The overwhelming majority of my campaign contributions are from local individuals and friends. I wanted to put a note on our yard signs saying they were “Locally bought, Kansas produced.”
My wife said, “How will they know that that sentence doesn’t mean you, not the sign?” I replied, “Well, if politicians need money to run, and I do, you could do worse than being locally bought.”
Please know this. A contribution is not a promise of favors, but a much-appreciated offer of help to someone who will earnestly strive to vote for policy that is best for all of the public, not just a few.
